T-shirt Friday

•July 8, 2009 • 1 CommentSo I missed out on posting yesterday. Had a busy day and bad news.
My wife lost a good friend of hers, shot by robbers at a vacation resort and her step sister passed away from a sugar diabetes related illness.
Times just seem to be harder and harder lately. The fast pace of life is getting everybody down and we seem to be losing focus on the things that matter like family, good friends and enjoying life outside of the normal day to day things like work.
Have to go.
I will post again soon.
Till then…
Cheers
Monday, again! I thought we had one last week
•July 6, 2009 • 1 CommentSo I made it through the weekend by the skin of my teeth.

Beer Bongs
I saw a future victim groom pass out and a 21 year old follow that same route. My liver managed to survive, just!
I will post all details in a day or two but I need to make a living now.
Till later…..
Cheers!

I only have access to a computer at work and I work in a bank. I am sure that they will not appreciate me coming to work in a t-shirt and jeans. Here however is a contribution for the guys on Friday.
I will try and get some pic’s up of my own stuff soon.

** Excerpts from a Cat’s Diary**
Day 983 of my captivity. My captors still taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today i decapitated a mouse & dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a “good little hunter” I am. Bastards! There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of “allergies.” I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage. Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow — but at the top of the stairs. I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released – and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now…
I know that I am a dog person but I love all animals.
Till Later……
Cheers

•July 1, 2009 • 3 CommentsSo a new day and new challenges to face, yeah!!
My step son has been away from home since Sunday. He is on a training course for his new job that he started on the 1st of June. His girlfriend who stays with him, in a flat in our yard has been missing like crazy. He will be home on Friday.
As mentioned before I have two piss up’s 2 parties to attend on the weekend and the bossmy wife told me yesterday that we now have a third party on Sunday. We have a total of 7 birthdays this month and 5 of them happen in 4 days from the 2nd to the 5th.

Why I don't Dance!
I think that I need to do some preparation for the festivities, with regards to liver preservation and hangover prevention. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

•June 30, 2009 • 1 CommentSo I managed to get a full night sleep without any break-in phone calls from family members but awoke to another cold day.
I have a busy weekend coming up, and I think that my liver is going to take a pounding.
Good friends of ours (the wife (better know as the boss) and I) are have their respective gossip session/wine abuse kitchen tea for the ladies and piss up bachelors party for the gents on Saturday. Now as luck would have, it is also my daughters boyfriend’s 21st birthday on Sunday and she has decided to throw a little get together of 60+ people on Saturady night with a theme (fancy dress)
How I will not be going!!
I, in other words have to go to a party and then leave, to go to another party where I have to try and look sober be the responsible adult and tame the beasts check up on the younger members of the party.

The Kids
Wish me good luck and I will give follow ups.
The Past Few Days.
•June 29, 2009 • 3 CommentsSo, the last time I posted, it was to tell everybody about myself .
Let me tell you what has happened over the past few days.
Friday
Work has been work with the boss man trying to throw his weight round and cover his arse, both at the same time whis made for some amusing moments.
Saturday
Went shopping with my wife and eldest son, who took his wife and kids with. 4 adults and 3 grand kids in a car makes for an interesting time and not to mention the trouble that they seem to find themselves in (without really trying to) in the local shop. Later on in the day got to watch the Springboks, who were 19-8 down at one stage beat the British& Irish lions with a last minute penalty. Awesome!! Go Green & Gold!!
Sunday
We had some good friends over for lunch and spent the day chill-laxing (chilling and relaxing, mixed together.) I then got woken up at 03:30am this morning by a phone call from my sister in law, to tell us that they had just been burgled and that thankfully they and their family were 100% okay. Hard to try and sleep after that.
Why does it seem that most of the time bad news happens at night or in the early hours of the morning. I lost my mother to illness 5yrs ago and that phone came at 2am. When my father in law passed away (shot, in his own home, by robbers) the phone call also came in the early hours. The moment that the phone rings at night, the heart starts beating faster and to try and go from being fast asleep to a functioning human being takes a few minutes to get right.
Well, that pretty much covered that past few days.
Till later on……
Cheers

So this is the world of blogging! Awesome!! Great to see that I am not so crazy and that there are other people like me in the world.
I am a 32yr old man living in the scary place called Africa ( no, we don’t have lions walking the street. The hijackers killed them all!!) Yip, I stay in South Africa and ply my trade as a Financial Adviser for a bank.
I am married to a beautiful lady and have four step kids and even a few grand kids.
My days mostly consist of me trying to remain sane while dealing with a lot of work politics, home issues and surviving the best the days have to offer.
I will try and keep you all up to date with my going-on’s and we can see how far this blogging thing is going to go.
Hello world!
